Many have questioned whether traditional retail should be considered to be dead in the face of the e-commerce boom. But at least one expert says that consumers feel the two have merged. Instead of making a distinction between the online and offline shopping worlds, consumers simply see both as shopping. These days, auction sites are starting to deliver goods from offline stores to customers who purchase those goods online. And offline stores are accepting online methods of payment. This allows customers to have a choice in their shopping experience.
These days, customers can now choose whether to try an item in-store, simply purchase it and then pick it up at a store, or have it delivered to them. In the mobile arena, something called ‘offline existence’ may become the next trend. This may occur when a customer in a store wants more information about a product, which they can get by going online with internet service providers in Miami Florida or another provider. Or, perhaps customers will be able to alert a store that they are coming in to shop, so that they get more personalized service when they arrive.
